Intolerance in practice
I’m sorry if my insensitivity towards your beliefs offend you. But guess what - your religious wars, jihads, crusades, inquisitions, censoring of free speech, brainwashing of children, murdering of albinos, forcing girls into underage marriages, female genital mutilation, stoning, pederasty, homophobia and rejection of science and reason offend me. So I guess we’re even.
Let me go through this checklist. I have, to the best of my knowledge, not been on a religious war, or a jihad, or a crusade; I have not participated in an inquisition, nor have I censored free speech or brainwashed children; I have yet to murder an albino or force a girl into an underage marriage; I’m fairly sure I’d remember being involved in female genital mutilation or stoning; I don’t practice paederasty or homophobia; and I don’t reject science or reason. Yet I am a Christian. So this doesn’t quite work, does it? It’s intolerance like this that causes society’s problems.

Yeah, that’s charming. What you don’t understand is that you address that to everyone, insinuating that everyone who has a belief believes those things. The truth is next to noone does. Insinuating that they do is what people find offensive.
